The first example demonstrates the near real-time capabilities of Argos.  Data was collected from the TOGA-TAO buoy array in the Pacific Ocean.  After Argos processing, the data is processed by NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Lab (PMEL) and made available via the TAO Display Software and other means.  For more information on TOGA-TAO, go to http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/toga-tao/realtime.html.  To enlarge, click on the image below.

The second example shows the extensive data collection and geo-location abilities of the Argos system.  Here, data from thousands of drifting buoys around the globe is collected by Argos and forwarded to, among others, the Global Drifter Center at NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory.  After quality control and other processing, AOML develops products for use by oceanographers and meteorologists worldwide.  For more information on the Global Drifter Center, go to http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/phod/dac.  To enlarge, click on the image below.
